Who I Am
My name is Melanie, and I am currently an Instructional Designer in Higher Education. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Medical Bioscience from Monash University. After graduating, I realized that the lab setting wasn’t the right fit for me, which led me to roles in healthcare administration and, eventually, to a career in education.
At 25, I was diagnosed with ADHD, a moment that brought clarity to my lifelong challenges with focus and learning. This diagnosis was truly transformative, helping me understand the difference between merely coping and genuinely thriving. This experience deepened my belief that learning is never one-size-fits-all. I went on to earn my master’s degree in Learning Design and Technology from the University of San Diego, where I further explored how thoughtful design can make education more inclusive and engaging.
